**Volunteers Needed: In keeping with our values of Charity, Fraternity, Patriotism and Unity, we would like to start a volunteer group that would be available and ready to perform light/basic repair work at homes in our community (ex: fall cleanup, painting, small repairs, etc.) for those unable to perform them or unable to afford to have them done.
We are also looking for volunteers to assist those in need in the community with rides to doctors' appointments, treatment centers, etc. We would like to link these volunteers with the St. Vincent de Paul Society since they are in need of assistance in these areas.
If you are interested in either or both of these lists, please contact Ken Yager.

**Our Council sponsored its first 100 mile bicycle ride for charity. Ken Yager completed the ride on Sunday, October 5th in 8 hours, 33 minutes and raised $500. Next year promises to be bigger and better, so tune up those cycles and start training!
**Please check the "events" section of the website for the information on the NY Islanders Hockey game in November to benefit the NYS Special Olympics.**

We have a new home! Today we closed on the purchase of 101 Frederick Ave. right in the heart of Bellmore Village. The closing went smoothly. Everyone involved did their due diligence. Thanks to all who supported this huge effort! We started the process of downsizing back in 2010.
Please attend the last Columbus Club summer meeting on Thursday, August 21 for more details on our progress with the new building. Also, look for a progress report in the September Log. We have some changes to make before we can use the building, but we are making great progress. The floor plan has been finalized, and the permit for the Building Application was signed today. Contractors are being interviewed to bid on the changes.
Thanks again for all the help!
